Willa Maude Johns Guy has gone to rest on April 27, 2018. Her loving husband of 36 years, Tommy O. Guy, was there to greet her. Willa was born on April 11, 1941 in Brantley County, GA and raised as an infant in Waycross, GA by her mother, Stella Mae Akins and her loving grandparents, Joseph and Hattie Mae Allen. She was an only child. Willa grew up in Avon Park and LaBelle, FL. She met her sweetheart, Tommy, in LaBelle. The two married on July 6, 1966 in Kingsland, GA. Willa traveled the U.S. and overseas as Tommy's military career took them on many adventures. They settled down in Columbia, SC at Fort Jackson until eventually moving to Naples, FL in the mid 1980's. Willa worked first as a bank teller and then moved her way up as a senior vault teller for Barnett Bank for many years.
She will be missed by her daughter, Michelle Alonso; son-in-law, Joseph Alonso and Robert Alonso; her four grandchildren that she adored and they called "Nana"; Skyler Nicole Cassin, Jasmin and Julia Alonso and Zachary Guy; her many cousins that were like sisters to her, Linda Johns Craft, Moena Johns Edwards and Pat Johns, to name a few. Willa was also loved by her family members, her husband's family and life long friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at noon at Fort Denaud Cemetery, 1170 Cemetery Rd. LaBelle, FL.
