Steven Couling, 63 of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2018 after a long battle with renal disease. He was born on December 2, 1955 in Scunthorpe, England to June and Thomas Couling. He grew up in Scotter and Sutton Coldfield, England and moved to the United States in 1986.
Steve was a printer, serving a five year appprenticeship in the trade after graduating from high school, and worked in the profession until his retirement. Steve loved European Football, especially his home team, West Bromwich Albion Football Club, which he and his Father supported since 1968. He traveled all over Europe following the Albion and enjoyed visiting local pubs. He coached youth league soccer. He enjoyed playing Cricket, and was a member of Warwickshire County Cricket Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed attending PGA tournaments. He was especially fond of classic rock musicians The Who, The Beatles, YES and Queen and was privileged to see them live in concert.
He is survived by his mother, June (nee Sleaford) Couling; his son, Stuart Thomas Couling; uncles, John Sleaford (the late Joyce), Jack Cooling (the late Evelyn) and John Couling (the late Joyce (nee Pearson)); cousins, Peter Sleaford (Tina), the late Barbara (nee Sleaford) Oxley (Christopher), Mary and Michael Cooling, Ivan and Allen Couling and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Semper Couling; grandparents, Walter and Ethel Sleaford and Ernest and Sarah Couling.
