Ruth Feeney Noyes, 83, of Naples, FL passed away May 14, 2017. She was relatively healthy and lived at her home until the time of her death. She was born July 25, 1933 in Holbrook, MA and graduated from Holbrook High School and the University of Southern Maine. Ruth moved to Freeport, ME in the mid-1950's. There, she raised a family and lived in the area until the early 1990's. While in Freeport, she wrote for two newspapers, the Brunswick Record and the Portland Press Herald, for two decades. As a lover of clothing, she also was often employed by the Mid-Town Apparel clothing store on Main Street in Freeport. Ruth moved to Naples, FL in 1993, where she was employed as a home health provider. Interested in other cultures, she traveled to Ireland, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and Costa Rica (twice). She also spent significant time in California and Vermont in the mountains. A lover of animals, she either owned a dog or cat for almost the entirety of her adulthood. Ruth loved to read book and always had an amazing array of books in Maine, which she left to her daughter. Upon arriving in Naples, she built a new large collection of interesting and diverse books. She read books from the Collier library right up to the time of her death.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Robert Noyes Jr. and Michael Noyes; daughter, Caroll Noyes and granddaughter, Emily Hall.
